Smart Mail and Mobile Mail are both compatible with popular email clients – Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird and Entourage.

What’s the difference between Smart Mail and Mobile Mail?

With Smart Mail you’ll get 200MB of mail space and with Mobile Mail you’ll get 500MB of mail space.
You can access your email from anywhere in the world as long as you have access to a computer with the internet.
Additionally, with Mobile Mail you can check your email via your mobile. Active-sync push technology means that your emails are automatically pushed to your mobile so that you’ll never miss an email.

Which mobile phones can I use with Mobile Mail?

You can use Mobile Mail with the Apple iPhone, Blackberry, Nokia S60, Windows Mobile and Android Smartphone.

What is the maximum file attachment size when I send and receive emails?

The maximum size for an email attachment when sending and receiving emails with Speednames is 10MB.

Can I set up email forwarding to my Speednames email account?

Yes, you can set up different email addresses for various purposes to be received and sent from one single inbox. So anything@yourdomain will go to the same inbox as name@yourdomain. This makes it easy to manage multiple email addresses.

Do I need a domain name to buy an email address?

Yes, you need a domain name with Speednames to buy an email address. Our email solutions give you a personalised email address. Part of that is your domain name which comes after the @ symbol in your email address.
If you don’t have a domain name, find one using the search box in the right hand corner.

I have another domain with another provider and would like to transfer to Speednames so that I can use your email solutions. What do I have to do?

Transferring your domain is easy with Speednames. Search for the domain you want to transfer in using the domain search box and “transfer in” your domain name.

What is POP3?

POP3 stands for Post Office Protocol 3. POP3 is the most widely used email protocol. It is the standardised method of downloading email messages onto your computer.

What is IMAP?

IMAP stands for internet Message Access Protocol. It is an alternative to POP3 as a method of accessing email messages. IMAP stores your mail folders (inbox, sent messages, etc) on the server. Since it is stored on the mail server you can view your email from any location in the world.
